So as you may or may not see on my Facebook status, I was just looking on Google Maps at Champaign and it was weird as heck. I saw all these places I'd been and remembered things I'd done there and it was just this giant blender of emotions happening all at the same time. Some things had changed (missing tree in my best friend's front yard) others were just as I'd remembered them and some things I didn't remember at all. Totally unreal. I feel like going to Champaign now...maybe as a ghost so I can just watch things without having to interact. My 10 year high school reunion's coming up next week and I have no desire to go because I wasn't friends with any of the people that are going anyway (plus it's just really bad timing). I mean, who would I talk to and what would I talk to them about? Hey, how's your work? Oh me? I'm married with two kids at UT? Oh, you're gay?! Great! You know? That quote is so true man. We all just come and go.
I avoided my high school reunion, and I only have contact with about 5 people from high school. This Twilight Zone episode is pretty poignant itself, it's worth checking out.
