So, who's our man on the ground? And why is it brief?
Our man on the ground is El Chérrida. And I guess it's really not that brief since, though it only consists of three films, one is a six hour miniseries and another is about four and a half hours. Thankfully The Baader Meinhof Complex is only two and a half hours.
Further, a preliminary report from our man on the ground leads us to believe that leftist militants like to sit around a lot and talk politics while they smoke and drink (sounds like grad school). When they're not doing so, they like to protest or blow things up. Our man on the ground can only take so much of this. Hence, the relative briefness of the festival.
