Sean Connery as Zed, wearing a bizarre costume that
seems to be inspired by the campesino dress of the
Mexican Revolution (there is a definite connection
there that you'll notice if you watch the trailer).
Some of you may remember that on my/our now defunct film blog I once posted a trailer for what has to be one of the ten worst movies ever made, a 1974 John Boorman film called Zardoz. Starring in this monstrosity of a film is none other than James Bond, er Indiana Jones's dad, er Captain Ramius...I mean Sir Sean Connery. In case you missed it, here it is (I apologize in advance).
So why the horrible return of the repressed? Because I found this and I wish it were real, because I would totally get my game on for this:
It's really difficult to see that many shots of Sean Connery wearing a Speedo and posing in provocative ways. But watching the trailer was like watching a gruesome train wreck, it's hard to peel your eyes away.
I think my favorite part about it all is the cartoon rainbow logo and the voice saying "Zardoz" sounding like they were talking into one of those fake kiddy microphones. Nice graphics, dude.
Jared, when you embed from youtube, it gives you the option to change the size of the video window and I think you can decide whether or not to include HD or not (depending on the video). I can show you how sometime.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. There is no other word for that movie.
Gah!
Both comments are spot on.
If I ever get a job as a professor and I get to teach an intro to critical theory, I will include this film on the syllabus...just because.

How did you get an HD clip to embed on your blog???
