Watching Citizen Kane

I got together with a couple of friends during the football game so we could watch Citzen Kane. Matt was very excited to view Welles' masterwork.

Here we are, three nerds watching one of the greatest films ever made while our no. 8 ranked football team plays a home game...they lost. We had more fun watching and discussing Citizen Kane then we would have if we watched the game. And there were some great insights shared.

Orson Welles 1
BYU Football 0

Other Orson Welles films I recommend.

The Chimes at Midnight (Campanadas a medioanoche)
Mr. Arkadin (A.K.A. Confidential Report)
The Trial (Le Procès)
Touch of Evil
F for Fake

I feel bad that I missed out. I was on my way to kayak when I received the good word of an orson wells get together...I was not as excited as matt, I had no t-shirt, but I feel greatly lacking in my life now that I have missed the opportunity to bond with my brethren over the certain discussion that ensued post citizen kane. we should do this more often...

So, we actually won that one. We lost the next week. But we should still give Orson Welles the point because he performed better than BYU did that day. And I must say my nipple is looking perky and nippleicious!

You didn't watch the BYU game. gasp. The one we lost was an away game and I'm sure whatever anyone was doing was more fun then watching them get wasted by TCU. Boo hoo.

b & w photography. How appropriate. I love Citizen Kane and wish that I could say that my wife felt the same. Every time I watch it something else stands out and grabs my attention, forcing me to come to grips with the fact that it is, essentially, a really good movie.

It was quite fun. I watch most of the movies I like alone because they aren't widely enjoyed. Citizen Kane is emotionally taxing to watch, but it's awesome! We'll have to do more of these.
